DVDO’S AVLAB TPG 4K TEST PATTERN GENERATOR WINS TWO PRESTIGIOUS AWARDS DURING CEDIA EXPO 2014

Leading Publications CE Pro and Technology Integrator Select AVLab TPG for Product Innovation and Excellence

DVDO®, Inc., an award-winning provider of high-quality, high-definition (HD) video processing, switching and connectivity solutions, today announced that its 4K test pattern generator, AVLab TPG was named a winner of two prestigious awards during the CEDIA Expo 2014.  AVLab TPG was selected as the winner for the CE Pro BEST Award in the Tools, Testing & Calibration category for its innovation, functionality, and competitive advantage to integrators as well as the Technology Integrator’s EXC!TE Award for innovative, high-performing, and solutions-oriented products for the custom installation professional.

DVDO’s AVLab TPG has been designed with installers and integrators in mind, and is the first pocket-sized test pattern generator supporting full 4K Ultra HD resolution at 50/60Hz outlined in the HDMI® 2.0 specifications.  The AVLab TPG works with Color Management System (CMS) software such as CalMAN™, can be powered by either USB or with an AC adapter, and uses the USB interface to automatically control the video calibration workflow.

“We are thrilled that the CEDIA industry recognizes us once again for the value that DVDO products bring to installers and consumers,” said Doug Fealtman, general manager of DVDO.  “Winning these awards three consecutive years in a row truly validates our commitment to deliver innovative and cutting-edge products to the home entertainment market.”

“The BEST Awards are recognized as one of the most prestigious awards in the custom installation industry,” said Jason Knott, editor-in-chief at CE Pro. “The awards are independently scored by a team of integrators in the field who evaluate submissions based on their innovation, their benefit to the integrator and their ultimate benefit to the consumer. The scores are tallied up and the winner is selected.  So DVDO’s recognition is really coming from custom installers in the field, not just from CE Pro.”

“The 2014 EXC!TE winners including DVDO AVLab TPG stood out as particularly impressive, considering the unique challenges custom installers face every day on the job, said Maureen Jenson, editor-in-chief at Technology Integrator.  “The impact these products have on the industry is felt in the installers’ productivity, the dealers’ profitability, the clients’ satisfaction and the industry’s vitality.”
